15,000 Riders, 100 Miles and Closed Roads

100 miles, closed roads and 15,000 riders…what on earth? It’s Velo Birmingham!

On the weekend of September 23rd & 24th, 2017, Birmingham will host a spectacular 100 mile closed road sportive, together with the third annual edition of the hugely popular Bike Fest. This is a free cycling festival, which includes a closed road family ride along, with fun cycling related activities for all ages.

So, why are we talking about it? This fantastic event will raise money for amazing charities!

General and Fast Track riders can raise money for their chosen charities, but with Velo Birmingham’s chosen charities, you can raise money for Alzheimer’s Society, Cureleukaemia, NSPCC and Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity.

Two of our very own ninjas, Dan Cook and Neil Wilson, as well as Matt Hudson and Chris Hatcher are taking part in this fantastic event.

Dan has chosen to raise money for Evelina London Children’s Hospital. With themed floors, a conservatory, rooms with views, sunlight and fresh air, Evelina London Children’s Hospital was designed around the needs of children and their families. You can sponsor Dan here.

Neil has chosen to raise money for Special Effect. They do a fantastic job, giving people with disabilities the opportunity to experience the fun of video games, that they would not necessarily be able to enjoy without their support. You can sponsor Neil here.

All the charities mentioned need ongoing support, to carry out their crucial work, so here’s to raising lots and lots of money! #ridetogether #charity. They are a bunch of good eggs!

General and Fast Track options have now sold out. There is still ‘Ride for Charity’ and ‘Enter Business 100’ options to take part in this exciting event!
