Have you got your dancing shoes ready? Do you know why? Because Folk Week starts on Friday 10th August until Friday 17th August!
As anyone who has attended a Folk Week before knows the event engulfs the town in the summer and there is hardly a venue that isn’t bursting with song, music and dance. There is something for everyone, so whether you are looking for a family friendly event or a chance to show off your dance moves, Folk Week has something for you!
So, what’s on this year?
Workshops – Workshops at Folk Week are very welcoming and a chance to try something new or brush up existing skills. So, why not learn how to play the ukulele this summer?
Dancing – You can dance your socks off this summer at Folk Week. There is something going on all around the town from traditional dances to the ceilidh.
Pub Gigs – Gigs are hugely popular! They are free to festival goers as well as the locals who relish the opportunity to enjoy one of their favourite bands.
Around town – Overlooking the lovely Viking Bay is the Bandstand, home to the popular Hobby Horse Club. Free family fun every day. There are afternoon and evening shows for all to enjoy!
There is so much to do this year at Broadstairs Folk Week!
BCS have been sponsoring this fantastic event for over 20 years now! So, I am sure you’ll see some of our ninjas around town, getting into the Folk Week spirit!
