Our Big Comedy Spectacular back in January was a roaring success! Our next one is on Thursday 21st May 2015 at The Theatre Royal in Margate. This is our second comedy spectacular event, with our third one later in the year.
We are looking forward to seeing our fantastic line up! Our evening features Dan Evans as our fabulous compere, and three wonderful comedians including Pierre Hollins, Quincy and Richard Morton.
Dan Evans first appeared on the comedy circuit in 1994. Over the past decade, his dark and humorous personality has entertained many crowds. As well as playing clubs and universities throughout the UK, Dan has gigged in Holland, Germany, Dubai and Ireland, as well as being part of the sell-out Screaming Blue Murder Cabaret and Avalon Comedy Zones at the Edinburgh Fringe. He writes too, with credits including The Very World of Milton Jones), Rory Bremner ‘Who Else?’ The Eleven O’Clock Show, The Live Floor Show, Revolver and The Joan Rivers Position. He looks a bit scary!
‘Skilful and surreal’ The Scotsman
Pierre Hollins has been an audience favourite on the comedy circuit for many years and has headlined at clubs throughout the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. In the early days he worked as a support act to Lenny Henry and Rory Bremner, appeared in the West End with Rita Rudner and toured with The Flying Pickets, Willie Rushton & Barry Cryer. He has completely re-invented his act several times, from the early days of acrobatic antics where he was described as ‘farfetched and semi dangerous’ by Time Out. The other jobs he’s had were washing dishes in the House of Commons, working on a gas pipe line in Qatar in the Middle East and teaching drama to people with mental health issues. What a character!
“Crazy, man!” NME
Stand-up, presenter, actor and compere, Quincy is a busy guy! He hosts his own live chat show, is a TV warm-up (BBC’s Blouse and Skirts) and has presented on BBC1 Xtra and Klymaxx FM. His live comedy work includes weekends at The Comedy Store, regular weekends at Jongleurs & Jongleurs ‘On the Road.’ He tours comedy clubs up and down the country as well as abroad, headlining & compering. He also tours in large-scale venues all over the UK as a stand up and in sketch shows including United Colours of Comedy at the Hackney Empire & Big Sister at The Oval Theatre. He has toured with John Simmit and Jocelyn Gee. We can’t wait!
“An act to watch out for!” Time Out
Richard Morton is a stand-up comedian, singer/songwriter, composer, TV/radio presenter, documentary maker, Time Out Comedy Award winner and founder member of the London Comedy Store’s long-running Cutting Edge show. Wow, what doesn’t he do! Richard is one half of the legendary harmony singing duo ‘The Panic Brothers’ and has also composed & recorded two albums of instrumental theme music with ‘The Rich Morton Sound’ that have been critically acclaimed. Richard has been an established headliner on the UK comedy circuit since the early 1990s, when he was also a regular support act on extensive UK theatre tours for stars such as Jack Dee, Jo Brand, Lee Evans and Phil Jupitus. Impressive!
“He takes the cheapest tat, well past its sell-by date and with sheer force of personality gets the audience to lap it up.” Chortle
