Martin Hynes

Managing Director

“I am blessed to be the captain of an organisation that pushes the boundaries of what is possible from an IT provider. My vision for the company is to continue to deliver the best possible experience for our staff and customers, whilst continuing to innovate and add value to all our partners and the wider business community.”

Raised in East Kent, having moved from North London as a small boy, Martin has always had a strong interest in both IT and Business, studying the latter at A Level and eventually attaining a Batchelors degree in the subject from Canterbury Christ Church University.

Martin joined BCS back in January 2012, starting out in a sales role – since then, the business has not only grown, but rebranded, moved offices, and now transitioned into employee ownership. In January 2016 Martin was appointed Commercial Director of BCS, eventually taking over the role of Managing Director in April 2018.

Hot food fanatic
If you want to know what Scoville units are or some advice on growing chilli plants, Martin is your guy. A regular at UK chilli festivals (yes, such things exist), you won’t find him eating much without a bottle of hot sauce close to hand!

Giving back to the community
Martin has always been driven to help in the community where he can. Some notable highlights include, cycling from Ramsgate to Brighton to raise money for children suffering from muscular dystrophy, regular collections for the RNLI and even occasionally dressing up as Pudsey Bear, across some of London’s busiest stations, to raise money for Children in Need.

Peer groups
Martin is privileged to be a member of an international IT peer group run by one of the biggest Tech companies in the industry, ConnectWise. This peer-group provides a platform for BCS to mix with other IT Service Providers and discuss key industry trends, best practice processes and how we can collectively drive the industry forward.

Football
On Monday and Wednesday nights, you can find Martin rolling back the years, playing 6-aside football over in Canterbury. Driven by a love of football and a fear of falling out of shape, he intends to carry on as long as his joints will allow.

Travel
“Wanderlust: n. a strong desire for or impulse to wander or travel and explore the world”
Martin’s passion for adventure and new experiences has taken him to some exciting destinations. Some of his favourite experiences include visiting the giant buddha in Hong Kong, scaling up to Trolltunga in Norway, exploring the Luray Caverns in Virgina, and snowboarding down the Rila Mountains in Bulgaria
