To start the New Year with a bang, we are hosting our ‘Big Comedy Spectacular’ at The Theatre Royal in Margate on Thursday 22nd January 2015. This is the first of three comedy events we are hosting this year, with one in May, and one later in the year.
We are very excited and looking forward to seeing our fantastic line up! Our evening features Andre Vincent as our fabulous compere, and three wonderful comedians including Michael Fabbri, Earl Okin & Eddy Brimson. It will be an evening of laughter, catching up with people and meeting new people.
Actor, Writer and Comedian, Andre Vincent has done it all. The Sunday Times describe him as ‘Ferociously funny!’ From appearing on television shows such as Lee Evans Christmas Special, Harry Hill’s Fruit Fancies, Edinburgh Nights, Byker Grove and Bodger and Badger, Andre has also managed three sell out runs at The Edinburgh Festival. As well as a regular face on daytime panel games and a popular television & radio presenter, Andre has entertained crowds at festivals in China, Australia, Columbia, America and of course, here in the UK.
From teaching Cliff Richard to ride a unicycle, singing with Miss UK on television and warming the crowd up for Bob Hope, Andre is in the words of The Guardian ‘An improvising comedy genius.’
Comedian Michael Fabbri quickly stamped his mark in the UK in the 2003 final of Channel 4’s ‘So You Think You’re Funny?’ At a rapid speed, Michael earned a reputation as one of the most promising comedians on the circuit.
BBC Online describe Michael as ‘Hilarious, clever, sick and completely unrepeatable.’ From entertaining crowds in Singapore, Dubai, Doha, Abu Dhabi and of course, here in the UK, Michael did his own solo show in 2008 ‘Michael Fabbri : Dumbing Up.’ Michael regularly performs at the best clubs in the country including The Comedy Store, not surprising as he is described by The Scotsman as ‘Exceptionally funny, extremely sharp and hugely enjoyable.’
Musical genius, Sex symbol, Songwriter, Jazz / Caberet and Comedy concert artist, Earl Okin is certainly one of a kind! Time Out describes Earl as ‘Multi-talented musical supremo.’ Earl has been a headline comedy act on the London circuit since 1982, performing at The Royal Albert Hall to The London Palladium, and the most performed artist ever at The Edinburgh Festival. He has toured his one-man show literally around the world and has appeared on top television shows in Europe and Australia, as well as having CDs released by Sony and BMG.
Impossible to describe, with the ability to charm audiences of any age or nationality, in front of 65,000 people or in intimate clubs, Earl really is one in a million! The Scotsman described Earl in a manner which speaks volumes ‘Age does not matter for he appeals to all from 17 to senility… master of the art of Cabaret.’
Actor, Writer and Comedian, Eddy Brimson is described by Sky Magazine as ‘Quite simply brilliant.’ Eddy is a familiar face on the UK comedy circuit performing at venues such as Jongleurs, Belfast Empire and London’s notorius Up the Creek.
Eddy has written seven best selling books and appeared in a number of British television shows including Absolutely Fabulous, The Thin Blue Line, Silent Witness, Casualty, Between The Lines and Eastenders. Playing a gang member in the HBO movie ‘The Infiltrator’ (1995) and making regular contributions on BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC regional stations are the other fantastic achievements Eddy has up his sleeve! William Cook at The Guardian says, “The crowd loved him.” You can’t get better praise than that!
